Karl Lagerfeld’s collection ‘Paris-Byzance’ pre-fall 2011 for Chanel represented the starting point for the fabulous makeup palette Lumieres Byzantines created by Peter Philips, global creative director for Chanel Makeup. This collection is dedicated for the modern Theodora empresses who might be Chanel’s clientele of today.
Karl Lagerfeld was inspired for his pre-fall 2011 collection by Byzantium, one of Coco Chanel’s major inspirations when she was the first to launch a line of costume jewelry in the 1920s.
The muse is Empress Theodora in the Byzantine Era, where the Empire remained as one of the most powerful economic, cultural, and military forces in Europe, despite setbacks and territorial losses.
”Side texture, these cosmetics are in the form of cream, apply by buttons on the face and eyelids. The central eye, as clear, as the eyebrow point light, apply mascara to the right rather on top of cheekbones to make shine. The gold is applied to the whole eyelid, while the lower shadow find its place in the inner corner of eye. The last shadow, brown metallic, is applied as an eye-liner, lash lower. But will we want to use the risk of damaging the sublime palette? That is the question. Palette Chanel Lumières Byzantine to 1500 copies, is published on the occasion of the parade crafts.”
The main product of this collection is the Lumieres Byzantines palette which it's like a jewel in a case and it contains five cream makeup products that can be used as an eyeshadow or face highlighter.
