Papercut Magazine is on the forefront of fashion and beauty. For its May 2011 issue, it featured a pictorial series by photographers Remik Kozdra and Kasia Baczulis.
The series, labeled ‘All That Glitters Is Not Gold,’ features two stunning models from D’vision Model Management, Patrycja and Justyna, that have had their bodies completely covered in various shiny and glittering makeup. There is no clothing and no accessories—just bare bodies with shimmering paint. The models are covered in the three precious medals: gold, silver and bronze.
This is nudity as art, evoking one of those iconic moments in cinematic history. But it is, in a sense, also nudity as fashion: for even sans clothing, Kozdra and Baczulis capture a seasonal mood – that of geology and metallic tones – by transposing it not to clothing but to the skin, while the makeup seems to push their eyes into the backdrop; however, their striking irises remain vivid in each picture.
All that glitters may not be gold, but this shoot sure is.
